A Good Start to the Year

2013 got off to a good start. We spent New Years Eve in London on the Victoria Embankment, dancing in the street and watching the amazing fireworks.

Then we came home to Bosnia to 10 days of snowboarding. I had intended to just sit and watch the others as I was terrified of the idea of snowboarding, but somehow I got convinced to join in and after a day and a half I managed to snowboard on my own without holding onto anyone! I can only do it on a gentle slope, the idea of going to the top of a ski lift also terrifies me, but it's more than I ever thought I'd do and I've got the rest of the winter to improve as we have a ski centar just 30 mins drive from our front door.

And just to prove that I did it...

Plush Olympics

The Plush mascots for the 2012 London Olympics as seen in the Olympics Store in London St Pancras Station.

The one with the orange accents is called Wenlock and is the official mascot for the Olympic games. The one with blue accents is called Mandeville and is the official mascot for the Paralympic games. For the story behind them read this Wikipedia article.

Back home again

I'm back home now after my trip to the UK. Back home and back to work on amigurumis but I have 3 custom orders to work on all of which are being made as presents for people so I won't post any pictures here because you never know who will see them! Instead I'll post a few things about my trip to the UK.
I visited the Kidrobot store in Earlham Street, London - near Covent Garden. It's a fab shop full of cute and weird things! I bought a little zip pull thing in the Luckies Series. They come in blind boxes so you don't know what you've bought til you open the box. If you look closely at the picture you can see the little thing I got - a yellow smiley face monkey type thing! And don't you think the bag it came is awesome too?
