The owl is ready to fly!

So here she is - ready to go!

Giant Amigurumi Owl

My friend asked me to make an amigurumi owl for her daugther's 1st birthday. She said she wanted it to be quite big - so I thought, the easiest way to make something big would be to use thick yarn. It's very big - just over 9inches/23cm tall already and it's not yet finished. Hopefully it isn't so big that the little girl will be scared of it!

My Russian Christmas Gift

I have been expecting quite a few parcels for a couple of weeks now and have been wondering where they've all got to. Well today I found out! I went to collect the post from the PO Box for the church and found all our mail had been put in there too! So today has been like Christmas.

One of the parcels I was excitedly waiting for was my Russian Christmas Plush Swap from someone in the plush team. Well here it is! Thanks to Heather from Needlings for my awesome new plushies.

First - an awesome Needlings Christmas card and a cute little business card...

And then - 3 awesome plushies, some pins - and is that some werthers originals I see down there?

And here they all are - the complete contents of my parcel!
Thanks again Needlings :)

And keep checking my blog over the next few days to see what other awesome things I got in the post today!

Trying New Things

One of my best friends is having a baby very soon and because there isn't much choice of funky baby stuff available here in Bosnia Herzegovina we're making it all ourselves! She has decided that 'Owls' is the theme for the baby's room. This is my first attempt at making plush using a sewing machine and I think it came out ok. I'll keep going and make a few more and see which one turns out best!
Don't forget to enter the giveaway if you want the chance to win a super cute pumpkin!
