Dice Head the Las Vegas Croupier

Introducing Dice Head - the Las Vegas Croupier! I made him for the Plush Team Las Vegas Challenge.
I was in Dubrovnik on Sunday, we were taking my sister and her husband to the airport cos they were going back to the UK. Before we went to the airport we spent some time in the old city walking around, eating lunch etc... Just before we left the old city Matt (my husband) and Andy (brother in law) decided they wanted ice cream. We went into the ice cream place and while they were choosing one of the guys working there asked me and my sister if we wanted ice cream. We said no and he said 'visiting Dubrovnik and not trying the ice cream is like going to Vegas and not playing the casinos.' to which I replied 'I've done that too!'

What a week...

Last week seemed to last forever. There were some really good moments. My sister and her husband were visiting from UK and we had a great time all together going to the beach for our day off, BBQ with friends, hanging out together and working together in klub. But then there were also some really bad moments. One of the kids who comes to our youth club died from an electric shock. He was only 10 years old. He was with us in the youth club in the morning, his usual excited self, and then the news came during youth club in the evening that he had died in hospital as a result of an accident that afternoon. There are no words in this kind of situation. Seeing his friends break down and cry in front of us in the youth club as they kept saying to themselves over and over again 'he's dead, he's not here anymore' was heartbreaking and I'm just glad that we were there to give them what comfort we could. The funeral was on Saturday. There were over 1,000 people there as his Dad is a footballer in the local team and so his family are very well known. Images of it are imprinted in my mind but I can't find the words to describe it. The words that are going round my mind at the moment are from this song. All of my life, in every season, you are still God, I have a reason to sing, I have a reason to worship.
oh and in case you're wondering, the amigurumi in the picture is one of the things I'm working on at the moment.

Thank you :)

I got an excting little packet this morning - My prize from Cute Creation's give-away. I think it's totally cute but my friends here just don't get it! They think I'm very strange. Maybe I am - but anyway all this talk of give-aways has made me think about doing one myself. So when my facebook fanpage hits 200 fans I will run a give-away here on my blog. So get clicking and become a fan!

some things are hard to describe...

Some things are hard to describe, some experiences difficult to explain and all I can say is that once again I am so aware of what a privilege it is to live here. The richness of experience that comes from living a cross-cultural life is amazing.
My husband is much better at putting things into words than I am and if you click here you can read his blog where he talks about our life here in BiH.
